Rutherford County Sheriff's K-9 Bloodhound Ethel, who has rescued missing children and adults, now has her own battle. Deputy Michael Romans, his partner before she was retired, says she was diagnosed with Stage 1 cancer from a bump on her nose, forcing her to retire Tuesday. Romans faces $5,200 worth of radiation treatment at Blue Pearl Specialty and Emergency Pet Hospital Sandy Springs, Ga.

Since she can't work anymore, Rutherford County government retired Ethel on Tuesday. Romans appeals to dog lovers to donate to Ethel's 5-week radiation treatment at Go Fund Me under Retired K9 Ethel's Cancer Treatment.
