Snorting heroin led to a 23 year old Milton man being transported to the emergency room in Murfreesboro on Wednesday night.

A friend of the victim told police that he called 9-1-1 when he heard his friend struggling to breath. Murfreesboro Police quickly arrived at the address of where the Milton man was located on Tulane Court and were met by paramedics.

After being transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, the subject became alert. The man told police that he snorted heroin prior to becoming unresponsive.

A recovery is expected, but it is not known what long term damage occurred when the victim overdosed.
