Dan Whittle photo exhibit at Arts Center of Cannon County
May 25-June 30, 2012 Dan Whittle's photo art is on display at the Arts Center of Cannon County (1424 John Bragg Highway in neighboring Woodbury). Admission is free to the Marly Berger Gallery. This well known journalist-photographer-author has creative nature photos and captures life in action through the lens of his camera. Middle Half Marathon
Sat. (Oct. 13, 2012) 7AM 6th Annual Middle Half Marathon and Murph's Fun Run. The 13.1-mile course starts and stops at MTSU's Dean Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium and the course is around the beautiful flat and tree-lined Murfreesboro historic district. The Murfreesboro Half Marathon course has been certified as accurate in measurement according to the standards adopted by the USATF Road Running Technical Council. Nikki Giovanni: "Life in the Bottoms"
Tue (May 29, 2012) 5:30PM Renowned social activist and poet Nikki Giovanni will speak at New Vision Baptist Church (1750 N. Thompson Lane). "Life In The Bottoms" is the final part of MTSU's 2012 local history series. The evening begins with a barbecue dinner at 5:30PM. Then at 6:30PM oral history reports from the field school will be presented. Hobgood Elementary is competing for national recognition through a NASA Optimus Prime project.
Hobgood students have entered a video contest and they need your vote. The top five vote winning schools have their project judged by a committee from NASA based on set criteria.
We are up against many larger schools throughout the country and we need the community to become involved and vote.
The video titled "Oh No, Not Again, Judy Jetson" and voting link are on the Murfreesboro City Schools website and WGNSradio.com.
The video is written, produced and edited by five 6th grade students.
Simply click on the link below, watch our video and then click on the vote for this video link. If you are watching the video through the city schools website, you will be directed to the Nasa website and you must click the vote for this video again for the vote to be counted.
