If you have children who attend Hobgood Elementary School, you may have been curious about the school being placed on lockdown Friday morning. The Murfreesboro operated school that is off of Mercury Boulevard had to be placed on "Lock Down" this past Friday when a man was removed from the school for causing a "Disturbance," according to an arrest report.

When police officers approached 23-year old Elliott Bass of East Main Street at around 8:45 Friday morning, they noted that he was removed from the inside of the school and was standing outside. The responding officer wrote in his report, "I could smell an obvious odor of an intoxicant and noticed that Mr. Bass had blood shot eyes." They also wrote, "Mr. Bass admitted to consuming alcohol the night prior."

Due to the commotion he allegedly caused at the school as children were being dropped off by their parents, Bass was charged with "Public Intoxication." He will appear in court this December.
