At 9:31 Thursday morning members of Rutherford County Fire and Rescue Stations 1 and 2 along with Almaville Fire Department responded to a residential house fire at 10550 Franklin Road. As Firefighters arrived they found a two story structure with heavy black smoke coming from the roof of the house. Firefighters made entrance and found the first floor of the residence fully involved with fire blocking the stairway. A second attack team made entry through windows on the second floor. After an extensive search for occupants, in near black out conditions, it was determined that the residence was vacant. Firefighters then focused their efforts on extinguishing the active fire.

“Firefighters did a great job cutting the fire off and extinguishing it so quickly, “said Rutherford County Fire Rescue Chief Larry Farley”. The home owner stated “that he had crews working on the house, doing plumbing and electrical work.” The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. The home owner says the house was rented and the new tenants were to move in on Saturday.
