Home Wired to Bypass Murfreesboro Electric Meter - Plan Worked for the Past Month

It would appear that people will steal anything these days. Police responded to a Bradyville Pike home on Tuesday to meet with the Murfreesboro Electric Department over the issue of stolen electricity. A female called the electric department when she failed to receive her electric bill, even though her electricity was still turned on.

Here is where the story takes a twist… the woman told the electric department that her boyfriend told her that he had paid the electric bill to keep the power turned on. Evidently, it was set to be cut off. When the power remained on for the past month and she failed to receive a bill, she became confused and brought her concern to the electric department. She later learned that her boyfriend allegedly rewired her home bypassing the electric meter which was cut off by the electric department in September.

Police now have the name of the suspect in the case, but an arrest has not been made. The female has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
