A resident on Dunraven Drive near Veterans Parkway and State Route 840 was startled to find an unknown man armed with a shotgun inside his home. The victim told police he heard his garage door open and went to investigate.

As the victim neared the small hallway in his kitchen, he saw a 6-foot tall subject wearing a dark colored hoody who was holding a shotgun. The victim grabbed his .357 Magnum and fired a single shot at the unwelcomed intruder. It is not thought if the intruder was hit by the bullet, but it was confirmed to have entered the laundry room wall. After the shot was fire, the burglar fled the scene.

Detectives were notified, but the armed bandit was not located.
