Hottest Day for Auto Thefts: New Year's Day - Two Cars Stolen in the 'Boro

Insurance statistics show that on New Year's Day, more vehicles are stolen than any other time of the year. Here in Murfreesboro, there were two vehicle thefts reported on the first of the new year. A Ford Taurus parked on Kenslo Avenue was stolen and a Honda CRV was taken from an address on Northfield Boulevard in the Georgetown shopping center. In that case, the subject left the car in the parking lot overnight and returned the next day to find that it was missing. Police reports show that at this point, the two stolen vehicles have not been recovered.
