Less than an hour away is the Lane Motor Museum at 702 Murfreesboro Pike in Nashville. Founder Jeff Lane told WGNS News that his collection has a little over 400 vehicles, and the public display changes to show around 150 unique cars, trucks and motorcycles at a time.

Here is Bart's conversation with Jeff Lane . . .

In addition to unique four and three wheel cars, the Lane collection includes a large number of military, emergency response units, along with special use transportation.

Milestone Ahead

The museum's tenth anniversary will be celebrated on Saturday, October 19, 2013. As their gift to the public, admission will be free that day from 10:00 in the morning until 5:00PM. There will be demonstrations, plus Nissan will give a special gift to the first 500 to walk in the front door.

The anniversary celebration at the Lane Motor Museum will also feature face painting and balloon artists to make it a great event for the youngsters as well.

Lane Motor Museum Library

For those doing research, the Lane Motor Museum has a tremendous library that shows the history of its unique collection. In addition to the books, there are numerous scale model cars. (Photo below) Jeff Lane shows us this part of the Murfreesboro Pike complex.

There are early electric powered vehicles, even a few propeller cars. If you've lived in these parts for a good while, the museum is in the old Sunbeam Bread factory on Murfreesboro Pike, and just across from Aladdin.
