Husband and Wife Arrested in Smyrna After Child Allegedly Pushed Out of Window

As an update on this story, on April 13, 2018, Judge Royce Taylor in the Circuit Court of Rutherford County, TN, signed a court order finding Peter McShea "not guilty" of attempted child neglect or child endangerment. Judge Taylor had the charges expunged from state records. (Circuit Court Docket #75998; General Sessions Docket #563226-227).

A Smyrna man remains jailed on kidnapping and child abuse charges.

On April 23, 2016, Smyrna officers responded to 113 Kings Road in response to a child being pushed out of a window. Police tell WGNS that Officers spoke with witnesses who advised that 3 other children were locked in a room within the residence with no adults at home.

As a result of the investigation the father, Peter McShea and his wife Brandy were both arrested. Ms. McShea has since bonded out, but Peter McShea remains behind bars under a $75,500.00 bond.
