In case you thought a power outage during last week's election was a conspiracy...

For those of you that felt a conspiracy last Thursday on Election Night when the electricity abruptly went out for an hour and 30 minutes after the polls closed down, you can put the theories to rest.

Around 8:30 Thursday night, after the power had been down for 15 minutes several people were heard seriously discussing theories that the power outage had something to do with candidates shutting the power off before the Election Results were in the process of being tallied.

According to Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation spokesman Josh Clendenen a substation which powers all of Woodbury and throughout Cannon County and into the Kittrell Community of Rutherford County blew due to equipment failure caused by the storms passing through the area. Middle Tennessee Electric Membership crews quickly identified the situation but the damage was more extensive then first thought and that was the reason for the 90 minute power outage.

And Now you know the rest of the story...
