The Islamic Center of Murfreesboro is back in the news. The Rutherford County Board of Zoning Appeals will again take a look at a cemetery request from the group this week. The B-Z-A held a public hearing last month before deciding to push back a decision to this Wednesday. The group asked for more information from the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, including a study from an outside group about the soils on the property and whether its suitable for burials, without caskets. The B-Z-A also asked for a traffic study on the impact funerals might have on Veals Road, where the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro is located. The B-Z-A will meet Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 in the second floor courtroom of the Rutherford County Courthouse.
