Jernigan Returns to RuCo School Board

  Email   Print

A past Rutherford County School Board member will once again serve the board, on an interim basis. Donald Jernigan was approved by the county leaders to fill the seat he once held in zone three. Helen Blankenship, who won election in 2012 when Jernigan decided not to seek re-election, passed away last month from a blood infection. Jernigan serve two four-year terms from 2004 to 2012. He will fill the position until voters choose a new candidate in a special election August 7th. That's the date of the next county election, which is the county general.
