Although there was no word as to what would be discussed, the Republican legislator has been indicating that he might consider running for the U.S. 4th District Congressional seat in Washington, DC in 2014. Scott DesJarlais was re-elected for a second two-year term this past November, but has received much negative press about alleged activities.

District Dramatically Changed

Tennessee's U.S. Congressional Districts were just redistricted by the state as a result of the 2010 Census.

Last fall, Rutherford County was removed from the 6th District and made a part of an enlarged 4th U.S. Congressional District. Its population makes-up almost 40 per cent of the total district which covers from Murfreesboro all the way to Cleveland, Tennessee's Bradley County.

County Make-Up

In fact, Rhea, Bradley, Bledsoe, Van Buren, Warren, Grundy, Sequatchie, Marion, Franklin, Moore, Lincoln, Marshall, Bedford, Maury, and Rutherford counties now make-up the congressional district.
