Republican Jim Tracy officially filed his petition with the Tennessee State Division of Elections to be a candidate on the ballot for the 4th District Congressional Primary Race on August 7, 2014.

"I’m running for Congress because we need pro-active conservative leaders who will stand up and challenge the status quo,” said Tracy. “The citizens of the 4th Congressional District deserve a principled conservative leader who won’t be afraid to take on the tough issues.”

Tracy, a Tennessee native and current State Senator, has been endorsed by the Concerned Women of America and Citizens United as well as received the highest award of “Defender of Freedom” from the American Conservative Union.

“My wife Trena and I are honored and humbled by the amount of encouragement and support we have received from citizens in the 4th District. Fundamental changes must be made in the way Washington works so future generations can enjoy the same freedom, opportunity, and security we have,” said Tracy. “I am ready for the challenge and opportunity to serve the 4th District in Washington.”
