Dan Whittle photo exhibit at Arts Center of Cannon County
May 25-June 30, 2012 Dan Whittle's photo art is on display at the Arts Center of Cannon County (1424 John Bragg Highway in neighboring Woodbury). Admission is free to the Marly Berger Gallery. This well known journalist-photographer-author has creative nature photos and captures life in action through the lens of his camera. Middle Half Marathon
Sat. (Oct. 13, 2012) 7AM 6th Annual Middle Half Marathon and Murph's Fun Run. The 13.1-mile course starts and stops at MTSU's Dean Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium and the course is around the beautiful flat and tree-lined Murfreesboro historic district. The Murfreesboro Half Marathon course has been certified as accurate in measurement according to the standards adopted by the USATF Road Running Technical Council. Nikki Giovanni: "Life in the Bottoms"

"Life In The Bottoms" is the final part of MTSU's 2012 local history series. The evening begins with a barbecue dinner at 5:30PM. Jimmy's Tobacco Outlet in La Vergne Robbed Saturday Night

Surveillance video of Saturday night robbery at Jimmy's Tobacco Outlet in La Vergne.

It only took 37-seconds for an armed man to rob Jimmy’s Tobacco Outlet in La Vergne at 7:46 Saturday night (2-18-2012). The suspect stormed the 400 Old Nashville Highway business and was wearing a blue hoodie, blue bandana, and light leather work gloves. The armed robber was also wearing white tennis shoes, a white undershirt, and black jeans. Surveillance video shows him to be a black male between 5’7” and 5’11”. He fled on foot with approximately $300.

Detective Konrad Kaul emphasized the left-handed robber was holding a black pistol grip pump action shotgun. “If this is a left-handed pistol grip shotgun, it would be unique." If you know of anyone matching this description, call the La Vergne Police at 615-793-7744.
