John Q. Hammons, the man behind Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Murfreesboro, has passed away. Mr. Hammons died this past weekend (Memorial Day weekend). Former Murfreesboro Vice Mayor Chris Bratcher says that Hammons was instrumental in setting the bar high for future hotels and businesses in the Medical Center Parkway area.

The Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro opened in September of 2008. Bratcher was the Vice Mayor of Murfreesboro at the time.

The John Q. Hotels & Resorts’ national portfolio includes more than 5.4 million gross square feet of conventions space around the nation. The hotel in Murfreesboro is only a small piece of that massive portfolio, but he treated it as a unique venture during the planning and construction phase of the property on Medical Center Parkway.
