Journeys in Community Living will hold their Annual Community Awards Banquet and Silent Auction on Thursday evening, August 23rd. The auction begins at 5:30, with dinner beginning at 7:00 o'clock--all at the Double-Tree by Hilton on the Old Fort Parkway.
If you're trying to remember, what is Journeys in Community Living. That's the new name for the Rutherford County Adult Activity Center on Haley Road.
Development Coordinator Vicki Baldwin said, “Community support has helped establish a residential facility for three clients with challenging health issues. It has also helped acquire real world employment for five clients with intellectual disabilities who had never worked outside their sheltered workshop.”
Baldwin noted that this year, Journeys in Community Living faces new challenges, including continuing quality services despite a significant decrease in overall funding, and the need to secure computer hardware and software funding in order to shift into a 21st century electronic record keeping system.
To help Journeys meet these challenges, purchase your tickets and attend this year’s event. Tickets are $35 per person or $300 for a table of 10 people.
