MTSU Arts will feature the "Joys of the Season" at 7:00 o"clock Thursday night, December 3rd, in the Tucker Theatre. a showcase of music, art, theater and dance that the College of Liberal Arts hopes will become a holiday tradition.

Dean Mark Byrnes said the new concert "will allow us to showcase the many wonderful talents of our students and faculty and offer yet another entertainment option for our community."

WGNS Radio personality Bart Walker, also an MTSU alumnus, will serve as the concert's master of ceremonies, Byrnes said.

"This night will be a 'can't miss' for children and families from all across the region," Byrnes said. "We are proud to offer such a diverse and entertaining show."

Justin Durham, Department of Theatre and Dance production manager and the show's producer, said "Joys of the Season" will include a wide variety of genres, including choral music, solo performances, dance and storytelling.

Byrnes hopes the event will become an annual tradition at the university, which is "pleased to be able to offer yet another entertainment option for our community," he said.

Tickets will be $10 for general admission; $5 for seniors (55 and older) and K-12 students; and free to MTSU students with valid ID cards. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.mtsuarts.com or the day of the show at the Tucker Theatre box office.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit MTSU Arts, which was founded by the College of Liberal Arts in 2011 to support public performances and exhibits by the Department of Art, Department of Theatre and Dance and the School of Music. MTSU Arts performances are sponsored by Ascend Federal Credit Union.
