Desktop computers are pricey, but that is no excuse to steal one.

Murfreesboro Police responded to the new Walmart on Memorial Boulevard after a customer allegedly loaded up his shopping cart with a new Hewlett Packard desktop computer and then reportedly pushed the cart past the checkout without paying for it. The man then put the computer into a sedan parked out front.

When officers arrived the culprit was gone. However, police had the license plate number in their possession, thanks to workers in the store.

When law enforcement called on the "registered owner" of the sedan, she refused to tell police the name of the subject who took the computer. So at this point, an arrest has not been made for the theft of the computer.
