Large Road Repair Project Underway in LaVergne

Road repairs are on their way to LaVergne following the selection of Hoover, Inc. to contract the work.  During the February 7th meeting, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen agreed with the Public Works Department’s recommendation to begin repaving work in April, weather permitting.

“The paving work will begin when the weather warms up,” said Greg Skinner, director of Public Works. “We are focusing on sections of roads that are in disrepair. We are prioritizing repairs based on traffic count and citizen complaints.”

 The roads slated for repair work, in order of priority, are:

  • Waldron Roadnear Mapco
  • Bridge onCarothers Road
  • Dick Buchanan Street
  • Sanford Road, two sections
  • LaVergne Lane
  • Holland Ridge
  • Intersection of Holland Ridge andLaVergne Lane
  • Knollwood Road
  • Fergus Road
