Several big ticket items are now being auctioned on GovDeals by the city of La Vergne. The 22 items include two used fire trucks, cars from police seizures, a tool box, electric caution blinking arrow, furniture, and other items. You can bid from now until the auctions close at 4:00 p.m. (Central time) on August 27.

Vehicles to be sold include a 1991 Pierce Lance fire truck, a 1984 Sutphen TS100 fire truck, a 2005 Cadillac Deville Sedan, 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD, 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, and a 1999 Lincoln Town Car Signature. Other cars include a camry, ford ranger, Chevrolet Corsica, Nissan altima, and more.

"Items sold as surplus property include equipment the city no longer uses, as well as property seized by police," said City Administrator Bruce Richardson. "All items auctioned are sold as-is and where-is, so it is up to the buyer to research and inspect the item prior to bidding."

Buyers can bid on surplus city assets after registering and logging in. Like other online auction sites, the items are available for a specific period of time. The highest bidder will win unless the auction reserve has not been met. Payment may now be made online through the GovDeals website.

Contact information to view items prior to bidding is listed on each item. For more information, go to the city web page at www.lavergnetn.gov, click on the "Services" tab and go to "Government Auctions."
