Local home school students participated in a creativity class, taught by Murfreesboro Parks & Rec. worker Pam Williams. The class studied French painter Claude Monet in their weekly event held at the McFadden Community Center. They practiced painting landscapes like the Impressionists of Monet's era would have painted using photos of local landscapes.

The class learned of Monet's vision problems later in life when he could only see the color blue. Wearing blue-tinted glasses, the class found out how different and difficult it was to paint with the disability that Monet had.

At the close of the class, each student showed their postcard sized paintings and explained the difference in being able to paint with normal vision and only being able to see their subject in one color.
