Locals to Perform at DCI Masters of the Summer Music Games

On Friday, The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps, from Rosemont, Ill., will perform at Masters of the Summer Music Games.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. at Middle Tennessee State University's Johnny "Red" Floyd stadium. This event is an opportunity for drum corps fan and marching band students in the Murfreesboro area to experience Drum Corps International (DCI) up close and personal.

Masters of the Summer Music Games is one of many Tour of Champions events that offers a nontraditional interactive experience between fans and participating corps members. Fans attending this event will enjoy performances from some of the world's top drum corps including: The Cavaliers (Rosemont, IL), Bluecoats (Canton, OH), Blue Devils (Concord, CA), Phantom Regiment (Rockford, IL), Santa Clara Vanguard (Santa Clara Vanguard, CA), Carolina Crown (Ft. Mill, SC), The Cadets (Allentown, PA), Blue Knights (Denver, CO), Music City (Nashville, TN) as well as SoundSport ensembles Rocketeers (Huntsville, AL) and Sonus Brass Theater (Woodbridge, VA).

Local members of The Cavaliers include horn line members, Billy Howell (trumpet) of Madison, Lucas Parker (trumpet) of Eagleville, color guard member Matthew Tichenor from Nashville, and David Curtis of the front ensemble from Franklin.

This summer, The Cavaliers will travel over 10,000 miles across the United States with 32 performances in 16 states. The Cavaliers have members from 27 states, in addition to international members from Japan, Taiwan, Canada, and Belgium.
