Looking for Murfreesboro's Oldest Business

As a part of Murfreesboro’s Bicentennial Celebration, the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau are looking for the oldest businesses in Murfreesboro. Names of businesses that have been in operation for 50 years or longer are being sought. 

These landmark businesses will be honored at the September Business After Hours, sponsored by Ascend Federal Credit Union.  The event will take place on September 11, 2012 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, located at 3050 Medical Center Parkway.

The Bicentennial theme for September is “Our Work: the commerce and century businesses that helped the fledgling community build its economic engine into one of the premier development sites in the state.”

Mona Herring, vice president of the Rutherford County Convention and Visitors Bureau said, “Murfreesboro’s Bicentennial is a wonderful time to recognize long-standing pillars of our business community.”
