The popular downtown annual event "An Evening on Main Street" hosted by Main Street: Murfreesboro/Rutherford County, Inc. was held from 5:00 to 7:00 o'clock Tuesday evening at the beautiful home of Beth and Tommy Throneberry. The 70-degree temperatures and gentle breeze made the event at 930 East Main Street even more perfect.

The home was built in 1998 by W. Henry and the late Kay Huddleston. The two-story, Georgian style 5,000 square foot home has four bedrooms, five full baths, and two half baths. It has an elegant two-story tall marble floored entrance with a picturesque winding stairway. Luxurious hardwood flooring covers the remainder of this East Main Street dream come true.

Main Street's Board of Directors treated those in attendance with a variety of delicious hors d'oeuvres and other delicacies. The evening also offered an opportunity for area business leaders to get together and share experiences.

The Main Street Program is affiliated with the National Trust for Historic Preservation's National Main Street Center and follows the tenets of that program. Main Street capitalizes on the unique character of the courthouse square and the surrounding business district with the goal of transforming it into the cultural, social, professional and retail center of Rutherford County ... in essence, the hub of community life.

Main Street's mission is to maintain, enhance and promote Historic Downtown Murfreesboro as the heart of the community.
