Over $18,000 in tools and cable were rummaged through and some stolen from AT&T property on Cannon Avenue in Murfreesboro. The incident was reported on Tuesday.

An AT&T employee told police that about 8 trucks were broken into and hundreds of feet of metal cable was cut off of spools that are located on the property. After the items were gathered, the thief or thieves placed them in a pile in the center of the fenced in area, but failed to leave with them.

It is not known if someone spooked the thief which caused him to leave without taking the larger portion of the newly acquired loot, but it is thought that it could be tied to other thefts on AT&T property in and around Middle Tennessee.

So far, no arrests have been made.
