On Thursday, suspect Robert Binkley was accused of firing a rifle inside a home that he shares with a roommate. The incident unfolded at a home on Hidden Forest Lane in LaVergne.

When LaVergne Police arrived on the scene they were met by the roommate who was visibly shaken. Officers took the female to a safe place where they learned that Binkley was intoxicated, according to the roommate who notified the police.

After a brief standoff in front of the house and Binkley not responding to officers, police sent in a remote controlled robot. The video from the robot showed that Binkley was upstairs in the house and passed out.

LaVergne officers entered the home and took the subject into custody. He was transported to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and charged with Reckless Endangerment with a Weapon.
