A man who allegedly attempted to fondle a woman who was kind enough to give him a ride was arrested after the female fought back.

The suspect allegedly pulled the emergency brake in the car after the female claims to have pushed Cortavius Marable away when he attempted to touch her in an inappropriate manner. Marable then tried to force himself into the driver’s seat while strangling the victim, according to the arrest report. When the female was finally able to get free from the grasp of Marable and get out of the car, Marable allegedly grabbed her by the hair and started driving, pulling her down the street on the outside of the vehicle.

Officer Treadway reported that when he found the victim, she had marks around her neck, scrapes on her back, blood on her ankles and wrist, clumps of her hair had been pulled out, and her pants were ripped.

The victim told police she got away from Marable a second time after being dragged down the road by the hair. After she got away, Marable evidently exited the car and the victim kicked him in the groin and made a run for it. Police found Marable a short distance away where he was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and theft for reportedly stealing the victims car.

As of Monday evening, Marable remains behind bars. He will face the Rutherford County General Sessions Courts on May 7, 2014.
