A man who went to sign up to coach youth baseball in Murfreesboro, ended up making a threat instead of making a friend. The incident occurred on Saturday at SportsCom. The victim of the threat told police the suspect came into SportsCom in hopes of signing up to be a youth baseball coach during the upcoming season. The person who was in charge of the sign up told the man he could not sign up at this time because he was “not eligible,” according to an MPD incident report. The suspect left and returned about two hours later.

Upon the return trip the subject evidently called the victim into a corner of the room and stated, “You better watch your back.” The threat ended there, but police were notified. At this point, no arrests have been made.
