Two men who were fishing in Kayak's on Todd's Lake in Murfreesboro were told they needed to leave. The 20 and 21-year old men told police they were on the lake when someone approached them and stated they were on "his lake." According to the report, the subject told the two to get off his property, referring to the lake that quietly sits between Lakeshore Drive and Kensington Drive in Murfreesboro.

The reported victims were Mr. Smith and Mr. Cole (WGNS is withholding their full names to protect their identity). The police document obtained by WGNS outlined, "Mr. Smith advised that the subject then became irate stating that he would shoot them if they came back to his property (the lake). The subject then removed a gun from his waist and began pointing it in the direction of Mr. Smith and Mr. Cole."

The victims were advised of the warrants process, but at this time an arrest has not been made. However, the address of the possible suspect has been obtained along with a culprit name.

A large portion of Todd's Lake is on private property, much like a farmers pond in a field. The lake was created in the 1930's and is fed by Black Fox Spring.
