VERBATIM

A 29-year old man was arrested in Murfreesboro after allegedly punching a cab driver in the face and then running. Suspect Andrew Johnson reportedly owed the cab driver $7 for taking him to the Hasting’s parking lot early Friday morning (3/1/13). The cab driver was not seriously injured.

Police responded to the parking lot and after a brief search, found Johnson nearby on Sulpher Springs Road. Officer Treadway chased the suspect down to place him in handcuffs. The only problem is the arrest did not go as smoothly as expected. According to the incident report, “Johnson became physically combative with Officer Treadway.” Johnson was eventually taken into custody and charged with theft of services, resisting arrest and assault on an officer.
