A 51-year old Murfreesboro man faces assault charges after allegedly threatening hotel workers and police. Murfreesboro Police were called to 1335 Conference Center Boulevard, the location of Hilton Garden Inn. Workers told police Vincent Ruffin caused a disturbance in the lobby and was reportedly drunk and belligerent. They report he made threats to the hotel staff and police. Officers went to the room Ruffin was staying in after obtaining a warrant, but he didn't respond to knocks on the door. M-P-D crisis intervention team officers tried to reach a peaceful resolution. However, Ruffin reportedly refused to cooperate. That's when M-P-D made forceful entry to the room. They report there was some property damage to his hotel room as he was taken into custody. Ruffin was booked on three-thousand dollars bond and will be in court on November 25th.
