Man Assaulted After Door to Door Solicitation

A Saratoga Drive man, going door to door soliciting business for his lawn care business on Norman Drive was allegedly assaulted by a resident. According to the incident report, the victim was told by 53-year old Michael Shirley he wasn't interested. As the victim walked away, he reports Shirley yelled profanity and racial slurs at him and then confronted him in the road around noon Saturday.

Officer Cole Glass then reports the Shirley allegedly swung at the victim, but missed. The victim then says Shirley threatened to get a gun and shoot him. Shirley reportedly went back inside his home and came back outside with a baseball bat. The victim then got back in his vehicle and police were called.

A witness in the neighborhood confirmed the story of the victim and Shirley was arrested on aggravated assault charges. He was booked into the local jail on 65-hundred dollars bond and will be in court May 3rd.
