Man Dies In Early Friday Morning Accident At Nissan

An early Friday morning accident at Nissan in Smyrna has left one man dead. Nissan officials have not released the name of contract driver who was crushed when the truck in which he was driving started to roll and pinned him. The tragic accident occured around 1:30 Friday morning (1/27/2012) outside the plant's Breakout Center, which is a parts delivery warehouse. 

In a corporate press release, Nissan North America offered sympathy to the family of the deceased truck driver. They also noted, "The safety and well-being of our employees is Nissan's top priority. The company complies with all workplace safety laws and regulations. We will work with authorities to fully investigate what happened, with a focus on helping to prevent future occurrences."
