Man due in a Rutherford County Courtroom on Friday for Rape charges flees from state

In March of 2013, Edward Tarras was charged with Rape, Sexual Battery of a Minor, and Especially Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. On Friday morning (8/18/14) Tarras was scheduled to appear in Circuit Court in Murfreesboro in reference to the rape charges. According to Smyrna Police Chief Kevin Arnold, "He failed to appear and it was learned at that time that he had cut his tracking bracelet off and has allegedly fled from the state of Tennessee. Through conversations with sources we have learned that Mr. Tarras may be headed to Montana or Wyoming. He also has numerous friends and relatives in the state of New Jersey and Florida."

Tarras is a 39 year old white male who is approximately 5'08" and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He currently has brown hair and a light beard. He is also known to keep his head and face shaved. Tarras currently has a capias for his arrest and is to be held without bond.
