Man Impersonating Officer Wanted by Real Police

An unknown man is impersonating a police officer in Rutherford County. A fake traffic stop occurred on Armstrong Valley Road at Whitus Road on Tuesday night. The driver who was pulled over by the man impersonating an officer followed his intuition and fled the scene after the fake cop tried opening his car door. The only description the victim had of the subject was that his blue light that was on the top of his car did not seem right. He said it was a round blue light on the top of the car that seemed very different from normal police lights. After the victim fled the scene, running over the fake cops foot, he called the sheriff’s department. They confirmed that no stops had been made in the area and sent a real deputy out to meet the victim. The sheriff’s department is now investigating.
