Man in Murfreesboro allegedly moved by the National Anthem to go nude and hold a flag

Murfreesboro Police responded to an address in the area of Halls Hill Pike on May 2nd in reference to a nude man holding an American flag and a U.S. Marines flag.

Once on the scene officers made contact with a fully nude 22-year old man by the name of Callum M. Burks of Shelbyville, Tennessee. Officer J. Lamb wrote in a report, "He stated that he was watching the Mayweather vs Pacquiao and when he watched the National Anthem, he felt very moved, so he decided he needed to do something." Police asked Burks where the flags and the flag pole came from and he said, "A house down the street."

The report went on to state that the flag pole and flags came from a home on Journey Drive. The pole appeared to have been removed from the base, leaving structural damage behind.

Burks will have to be fully clothed when he appears in court on July 9, 2015.

His charges:

  • Indecent Exposure
  • Vandalisim under $500
  • Theft under $500
