A 23-year old Murfreesboro man faces a single charge of "Promotion of Prostitution" after a police officer was advised of a man posing as a female while engaging in the business of prostitution. The man was at a hotel located on Armory Drive when police got the call.

Once on the scene, Officer Brown learned that Devonta A. Blockmon had rented the room and paid for it himself... or perhaps dressed as herself. The Backpage.com ad that was allegedly placed by Blockmon was located by police under the "Escort" section and a second under the "Transsexual" section. Police then met with the subject who goes by the name of "Venus." The ad has since been removed.

Blockmon allowed police to search his phone where they found a title of "Sex Hobbiest" or "Johns," according to the arrest information that we obtained. Price amounts and sexual services were then found on the phone. Officers also found "pictures" on the phone. The phone was placed into evidence.

The official report stated, "Mr. Blockmon admitted to the prostitution and the money he earned while engaged in the prostitution was placed [also] in the MPD Property Room as evidence."
