At 1:08 a.m. Tuesday morning, Murfreesboro Police were dispatched to 1409 Pine Court. Evidently, there was a stabbing at that address as the result of a domestic violence situation between 23-year old Zaniel Radley and 31-year old Nicole Alexander.

According to a Domestic Violence Report, the stabbing was witnessed by an 11-year old child who was in the home. The male was stabbed once in the arm and once in the center of the chest. Zaniel Radley was rushed to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. A report filed by one of the first officers on the scene shows that alcohol or drugs may have been involved in this case. The same information shows that the female was not physically injured in the incident.

According to the initial Domestic Violence Report, Alexander, who is the girlfriend of Radley, is listed as the victim. Radley, who died from the stab wound to the chest, is listed as the suspect. Radley is currently on probation for a past crime unrelated to this most recent incident and there is no restraining order in place.

The incident is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division Violent Crimes Unit. All key parties in the case have been interviewed and several additional interviews are scheduled.

Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Kyle Evans told WGNS in an email, “At the conclusion of the investigation, the case will likely be presented to the Rutherford County Grand Jury.”
