End of the year statistics will show the crime as an aggravated robbery, but there is more to the story… A Warrior Drive resident told the police he was allegedly robbed at gunpoint. This is where the story takes a slight turn from your typical crime statistic:

The 39-year old victim told police he picked up an unknown male from the Jackson Motel on NW Broad Street at Medical Center Parkway and drove the subject to Sevier Street. He told police he drove to the location to buy cocaine, but was instead met with a handgun in his face.

The reported victim said once on Sevier Street, an area familiar with crime and drug deals, a man approached his car shoving a handgun in his face while reaching in trying to steal his car keys and cash. The unknown front seat passenger jumped from the car and ran as the driver sped away driving to the Murfreesboro Motel on Broad Street. It was at that location where he met with authorities and told them about the robbery.

The police incident report shows the officer who filed the report wrote, “While driving through the parking lot of 1150 NW Broad, I observed an individual that appeared to be passed out in his vehicle.” The report goes on to say, “He was shaking and stated he just had a gun in his face.” That was when the subject told the responding officer what happened.

At this point no arrests have been made.
