Man who allegedly killed 22-year old Heather Maples also charged with four counts of rape

Eight days after the lifeless body of Heather Maples was discovered in her apartment, Murfreesboro detectives obtained an arrest warrant and charged Brandon Richmond Bowling with first degree premeditated murder.

Bowling will appear in court to file a plea in the murder case on December 14, 2015. WGNS has learned that Bowling has also been charged with four counts of rape, which he will also face in a Rutherford County Courtroom just 11 days before Christmas.

Looking back, the murder took place at The Cove at Center Point Apartments in Murfreesboro (apartment 222). The murder happened just days before the young victim would have celebrated her 23rd birthday.

Heather Maples (pictured to the right) lived in Murfreesboro, but was originally from Mesquite, Texas.

More on the Investigation:

The investigation showed that Heather Maples was at Gentleman Jim's Bar on Greenland Drive around 10:00 to midnight on Thursday night August 6, 2015. She then left and went to The Handlebar on East Main Street until 12:45 early Friday morning (8/7/2015). She then returned to Gentleman Jims and stayed until 2:00 o'clock before returning to her apartment at 910 Brown Drive. At some point after returning home, she was killed.
