Mandy Moffitt & Bethany Johnson are our WGNS Good Neighbors...

A listener wrote WGNS to tell us about 2 lovely women who should receive flowers today for being the Good Neighbors. According to the email, “Mandy Moffitt & Bethany Johnson” work at the front windows at DHS. The person who wrote us said, “We are very proud to be working for the State & helping assist clients with any kind of help that we can. We offer Food Stamps, TennCare, & Families First to those that qualify. We see people from all walks of life...just released from 940 (Rutherford County Jail), homeless, expectant mothers, some that have just been evicted from their homes, etc. If we can make their life easier, if just for a few minutes, our day is good. Unfortunately, the work is very busy, sometimes hard, stressful, low paying, & rewarding. Our office receives approx 600 applications a week & our windows average 200-300 people a day.”
