Matthew West Concert Benefits Special Kids

Christian music artist, Matthew West, performed a benefit concert at New Vision Baptist Church on September 22 to raise over $122,000 for children with special needs at Special Kids Therapy and Nursing Center in Murfreesboro.

Over 1,000 attendees participated in the event organized by the local nonprofit. The night began with a pre-show private dinner with Way FM radio host, Wally, from The Wally Show holding a question and answer segment with Matthew West. Afterwards, dinner guests joined concert goers to see Matthew West perform his biggest hits including, "Strong Enough," and "The Motions."

"We are so thankful for everyone who came out and helped support the event," said Stephanie Folkman, Special Kids' director of development. "We are excited about the growing number of people who are interested in helping us serve families and children with special needs."

Special Kids is a Christian therapy and nursing center for children with special needs. The Murfreesboro-based ministry started with one child in 1998 and has grown to serve over 3,100 children from 18 counties in middle Tennessee.
