Memorial Wal-Mart To Get Public Input

It may take a bit longer for a planned Wal-Mart to begin construction. Weeks of speculation led to an official site plan being presented to the Murfreesboro Planning Commission last week. The commission was to consider it at their November 20th meeting. But discussion of the project at last week's city council meeting has led city officials to take in public comment. Officials decided to open up the planning meeting to public comment and hold a neighborhood meeting to discuss the Wal-Mart plans. Details of those meeting will be forthcoming. The land where the store is proposed, at the corner of Memorial and Airport Road, is already zoned commercial. There are already plans to build the city's third Wal-Mart store on South Church Street. There are two others, on Old Fort Parkway and on South Rutherford Boulevard.
