Heroin is making a comeback to Middle Tennessee. An example of that was made quite clear this week in Nashville when a LaVergne man and two residents of Ashland City were apprehended. The trio would allegedly take money from persons while in Nashville and then head to Brentwood to allegedly buy the heroin. They would then head back to Nashville to give the recently purcahsed drugs to the persons who handed them cash to buy the heroin in Brentwood.

Douglas Phillip Logan, James Callis and Nathan Foutch were all arrested for their alleged actions. 30-year old Logan, and 32-year old Callis are both from Ashland City and 34-year old Foutch is a resident of LaVergne. They were each charged with two counts of possessing heroin for resale.

The men who were said to be selling the drugs to the three in Brentwood are supposedly part of a much larger operation out of Mexico. Rodriguez Rafael Lopez and Antwan Gomez-Flores are allegedly involved in a heroin distribution conspiracy, according to Nashville Police.

Metro Nashville Police are continuing their investigation into the case, but at this point it looks as if the reported transactions would take place in parking lots. 10-More arrests were also made and close to $12,000 in cash was seized along with drugs and syringes.

Previously Reported Detailed Information:

Specialized Investigations Division narcotics detectives have interdicted yet another heroin distribution group in South Nashville with Wednesday’s arrest of ten persons and the seizure of 38 grams of heroin, three vehicles and $11,705 cash.

During the investigation that began last month, undercover officers watched suspect Douglas Phillip Logan meet with various persons, subsequently determined to be heroin customers, in the parking lots of various South Nashville businesses.  Officers watched Logan collect money from those individuals.  He would then travel to another location, meet with heroin-possessing distributors, then return to the parking lots and deliver heroin to the individual customers.

On Wednesday, detectives watched as Logan, accompanied by James Callis and Nathan Foutch, arrived at a parking lot and collected money from heroin customers.  Logan, Callis and Foutch then headed to a Brentwood parking lot and met with Rodriguez Rafael Lopez and Antwan Gomez-Flores.  After visiting with them, Logan, Callis and Foutch went to a parking lot at Nolensville Pike and Old Hickory Boulevard where they and the customers were taken into custody.  Seized at that location were 16 balloons filled with black tar heroin, syringes, spoons and other drug paraphernalia used to inject heroin.  The customers were issued state misdemeanor citations charging them with attempting to possess a controlled substance.

Lopez and Gomez-Flores were followed from Brentwood to the I-440 West End Avenue exit.  They were stopped there and taken into custody.  Both are suspected of being tied to a larger heroin organization with roots in Mexico.

The Crime Suppression Units from the South and West Precincts assisted in this case.  The investigation into heroin trafficking in the Nashville area is continuing.

Logan, 30, and Callis, 32, both of Ashland City, as well as Foutch, 34, of Lavergne, are each charged with two counts of possessing heroin for resale.  Logan’s bond is set at $100,000.  Callis’ bond is $55,000.  Foutch’ s bond is $42,000.

Lopez, 32, and Gomez-Flores, 26, both of Belmont Boulevard, are each charged with engaging in a heroin distribution conspiracy.  Their bond is set at $20,000 each.
