Monday Night Fiery I-24 Crash in La Vergne

There was a fiery two-car crash around 9:00 o'clock Monday night (1/19/2015) at the Waldron Road exit of I-24. A car was on fire in the emergency lane under the bridge that crosses the interstate.

La Vergne Police Officer John Fesmire told NewsRadio WGNS, "A car was fully engulfed in flames under the bridge at the eastbound lane (toward Chattanooga) I-24 at exit 64. Suddenly a second vehicle slammed into the blazing car."

Tennessee Highway Patrol Lieutenant Bill Miller noted, "The two vehicle crash did involve injuries. Electronic signboard warnings to find an alternate route were posted for approaching traffic."
