A woman from Smyrna is in Chattanooga for a trial involving her four year old son. In 2011 Dawn Hammers allegedly held a pillow over her sons face when he awoke from a nap while hospitalized in Chattanooga.
During testimony this week, the prosecutor used medical records to demonstrate how the 4-year old had improved health when his mother did not have access to him.
43-year old Hammers is charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated child abuse.
