Around 10:15 Friday morning, a motorcyclist went down on I-24 near mile marker 70 (Almaville Road). 48-year old Robert Phillips of Nashville was injured.
A witness told Trooper Scott Miller that the 2006 Harley Davidson FXD motorcycle was traveling toward Murfreesboro in the far left lane of the interstationat a high rate of speed. Phillips reportedly lost control, went off the left side of the roadway and into the median.
First responders report that the injured person was critical. LifeFlight helicopter went to the scene, and officers stopped traffic for the air ambulance to land on the interstate. At 10:45AM the Phillips was transported to the Trauma center at Vanderbilt.
