MPD Officer Jason Lowder Resigns After Admitting To Selling Bullet Proof Vests

Remember the story of a Murfreesboro police officer allegedly selling a bullet proof vest from the trunk of his patrol car? The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reports that 33 year old Jason Lowder resigned after admitting pleading guilty to theft over $500 on June 6th. 

Lowder agreed to serve probation, surrender his certification to be a police officer in Tennessee, and to pay restitution of $1,000. 

Reportedly, most of the bullet proof vests were sold on-line between January, 2013 and January, 2014.
